National Accordion Awareness Month was established in 1989 to promote the accordion, help spread the word about the resurgence in popularity in the accordion and to educate people about the accordion. Here's some info.

I'm sure there are bunches of (old) square dance records that feature the accordian. I tend to associate MacGregor with accordian arrangements.

Hey, Kris, I hear you're calling a dance in SF on June 25. Is that for Western Star? Their site doesn't name you, but non-SF friends of mine who will be in town want to attend your dance and they're trying to find out if that's the one. (I won't arrive in San Jose till essentially Thursday.)

Oops, never mind; they were able to confirm that that's the right dance. It's Ron and Troy from Portland; you might recognize Ron as an up-and-coming caller attending his third caller school this year.

My bad: I said Portland but meant Seattle. :-)
